Haunted Tours: Whisper in the Walls 2025
This year’s Whisper in the Walls haunted tours at the Historic Bembridge House were nothing short of spellbinding. Guests stepped into candle-lit halls where the past came alive — greeted by either a haunted butler or The Lady of the House herself, each offering their own eerie spin on the evening’s tale.
The Jewel Box Children’s Theater, Children’s Theater Long Beach and Long Beach Junior Roller Derby brought youthful spirit (and plenty of shrieks) to life as ghosts, tricksters, and the infamous creepy twins haunting the upstairs corridor. Their performances added both charm and chills to every tour.
Opera floated through the night as Blair’s haunting live renditions filled the music room, giving visitors goosebumps and a glimpse of high society’s echoing past. Outside, guests gathered in the moonlit garden for Wailing Widow Cocktails, surrounded by flickering candles and the occasional brush of our resident black cat, who seemed to enjoy the limelight.
Each candle-light tour offered something new — no two groups experienced the same haunt. Some encountered laughter and ghostly gossip in the parlor; others caught whispers from the attic or shadows gliding down the grand staircase.
None of this magic could happen without our dedicated volunteers, who helped bring this haunted history to life night after night, and our event sponsor Port of Long Beach, whose support ensures the spirits of Bembridge House can return year after year.
Until next October… keep your ears open. You never know when you might hear a whisper in the walls.
Keep your eyes peeled for more tours and spooky tea parties coming up….
