The 10th Annual HeART of the City: Celebrating Community

The Bembridge House was honored to serve as the setting for the 10th Annual HeART of the City Awards, hosted by CityHeART. This milestone event celebrated the people who quietly and consistently shape the cultural heart of Long Beach — unsung community heroes, artists, and volunteers whose work strengthens connection and uplifts the city’s spirit.

Now in its tenth year, the HeART of the City Awards have become a meaningful tradition in Long Beach, recognizing individuals and community partners who lead with creativity, compassion, and service. The 2025 awards honored Christina Kreachbaum along with other dedicated community partners, acknowledging their lasting contributions through art, advocacy, and civic engagement.

This year, Long Beach Soul Collective was proudly recognized as the recipient of CityHeART’s Art from Ashes Award, honoring their resilience, creativity, and commitment to community healing through the arts. The award reflects the power of creative expression to rebuild, inspire, and bring people together in the wake of hardship.

Additionally, Blair Cohn was recognized for his efforts during the Los Angeles fires, acknowledging his dedication and leadership during a time of crisis. His recognition underscored the evening’s broader theme: honoring those who show up for their communities when it matters most.

Throughout the evening, the Bembridge House provided an intimate and welcoming backdrop for celebration and reflection. Guests gathered across the historic home and grounds, sharing stories, applause, and appreciation in a setting that felt both elegant and deeply personal. We were honored to host CityHeART and their guests for this special anniversary year and grateful to be part of an evening that highlighted the very best of Long Beach.
